A Open Letter to Anyone Looking for Love
Dear You,
Yes, you. There’s a reason this letter found its way to you.
Whatever you’re feeling, know that you’re not alone. I know you have a lot of questions on your mind right now.
Why haven’t you met your person yet? Why is it so easy for other people to find someone?
But rest your heart and don’t worry. We all have different timelines. Maybe, it’s not your season yet. Or maybe, you’re almost at the end. You just have to be patient.
I know it’s hard to believe but everything happens as it should. Every decision you make, every risk you take, every lesson you learn is leading you to the path you were meant to be in. Whether there’s another person at the end of the line is still uncertain. But one thing is for sure: you will be fine either way.
So many people live their lives looking for love in a single person. But look around, there is so much love around you. There is love in a friend who spends time with you despite their busy days. There is love in your family who takes care of you. There is love in a random stranger you meet across the street who smiles at you. There is love in a pet who thinks you’re their whole world. So you see, there’s always an abundance of love. You just haven’t tried looking everywhere.
I know there will be times when it feels lonely. After all, the romantic kind is a different kind of love, a different kind of happiness. There will always be a longing for your own person, someone who will hug you when you have a bad day, someone you can tell all your secrets to, someone who will love you despite your flaws, and someone who is there for you when the rest of the world isn’t.
But no matter how much you yearn for it, I hope you don’t settle for less than you deserve. It’s better to be alone than to suffer with the wrong person. Just because there are a few good days doesn’t mean you should ignore a thousand bad nights.
Always remember to never put your worth in the hands of other people. What they do or don’t do doesn’t decide if you are enough. Don’t change yourself into someone you think they would love. The right person will accept who you are and celebrate your existence.
I believe deep down that you know all these things. But sometimes, you need someone to remind you. For now, focus on yourself. Trust that the universe will give you what or who you’re looking for at the right moment. Not a second too soon, not a second too late. And someday, everything will fall into place. All it takes is a little patience.
